After spending much of my adult life learning about the physiology of the body during exercise, as well as working as a clinical dietitian and coach, I have had great success in helping individuals of all ages and fitness abilities learn how to develop a healthy relationship with food. More so, with new "food" freedom and trust in the daily diet, I have helped athletes (and fitness enthusiasts) learn to eat in a way that maximizes performance as well as reduces risk for injury/illness. With a basic understanding of your individual needs, you will quickly find yourself recovering faster after workouts, encouraging gains in lean muscle mass and eliminating "sports nutrition" fears when it comes to eating before, during and after workouts and racing.
Race Fueling Plan
Race Fueling Plan
Do you want to feel as confident with your race week and race day nutrition as you do with your race day fitness? Don't let all that training go to waste because you don't have a practical race day fueling plan.
This service is designed to help you master your race day fueling based on what has worked (and hasn't worked) in training and to understand how to eat and hydrate on race week in order to set your body up for a great race day performance.
A personalized fueling plan as well as detailed instructions as to how to overcome "on-no" fueling/GI situations on race day will be provided. Don't let yourself go into a race with anxieties about cramping, GI issues, bonking or other performance limiting nutrition-related issues.
This service is best utilized at least 4 weeks before your race. If you are interested in this plan but your race is in less than 4 weeks, please contact before purchasing.
I know many athletes who are very fit and well-trained going into race week but struggle to know how to properly eat right and fuel well on race week /day. I do not want you to throw away all your hard work in training because of a nutrition mishap on race week/day!
To help you feel confident with your nutrition on race week/day, I will not only provide a personalized fueling and hydration strategy for race day but I will also provide you with a detailed guide on my top tips for eating on race week to control your blood sugar, reduce the risk for GI issues on race day and to keep your body energized and well fueled.
For this service to be effective, I ask that you contact me at least 4 weeks before you’re A-race. After you purchase the race week/day fueling consultation, you will complete a sport nutrition consultation questionnaire for me to get to know you better as an athlete. I will also learn about your current fueling regime and eating style. Next, I will have you complete two sport nutrition logs (on two separate weekends – or when your two longest workouts occur as this is the best opportunity to practice your race day fueling regime before/during workouts). After each log, I will make some effective and simple suggestions to your current fueling regime (for you to practice) which will set you up for a better race day performance. Your feedback for the logs will come in the form of a detailed email, phone call or Skype/Facetime session.
Lastly, when you receive your race week fueling guide and race day fueling plan (for the night before, morning of and during your race) we will have one last phone call where I will review your pacing strategy, course maps, weather and offer any personal experience that I can share to help you have the best race possible with your current level of fitness.
Please keep in mind that experimentation and quality training are also essential for ensuring optimal race day performance. Sadly, we cannot blame everything on nutrition. As part of my service, I may address any possible limiters in your current fueling strategy and pacing, which may affect your race day performance. As an experienced endurance triathlete, please recognize that even the most perfect race day nutrition plan can fail if you do not pace yourself or based on things out of your control (ex. weather, terrain, etc.). The key to successful racing is not only preventing nutrition problems before they occur but also knowing how to deal with situations when they come about.
If you are not interested in this detailed fueling consultation, perhaps a 1-hour phone call consultation may be exactly what you need to discuss any sport nutrition or racing concerns that you may have for your upcoming race.
